Skilljar News & Updates

Today, I’m thrilled to share that Skilljar has raised $33M in Series B funding to fuel the next stage of our growth journey. Insight Partners led the funding round with participation from existing investors Mayfield, Trilogy Equity Partners, and Shasta Ventures. This is an incredible milestone, and I am so proud of the Skilljar team and appreciative of the hard work and commitment that has gotten us here.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support from our amazing customers. We are fortunate to have champions who have passionately believed in us and our vision since 2015, and who challenge us to expand the frontiers of what’s possible. Thank you for trusting Skilljar as your technology partner and for sharing your perspectives and business goals. There’s so much more that we can do together and we’re excited to continue on this journey with you.

Our Journey

Skilljar is reinventing how organizations engage with their external audiences – customers and partners. Since launching in 2013, we’ve helped educate more than 3 million people by delivering over 110 million lessons through the Skilljar platform. Learners have spent 11 million hours engaging with Skilljar-hosted courses and the New World of Work has only made our mission more relevant.

The need for Customer Education is more critical than ever. Formal education is falling short at a time when the digital skills gap and quality employment opportunities are rapidly changing. Online learning is the only realistic solution and we are seeing companies stepping up en masse to fill the void.

But this isn’t just altruistic – it’s also a business imperative. Our customers report tens of thousands of new learners enrolling in their courses, including audiences who have historically been cautious to try digital learning opportunities. This engagement is priceless for companies looking to drive awareness, retention and growth.

Two Skilljar customer stories that come to mind are those of Nintex and Tableau. In the early days of the pandemic, Nintex made all of its instructor-led, virtual classroom training and certification exams free of charge for a limited time, adding more than 150 virtual courses to its roster. Similarly, Tableau launched an eLearning subscription that offered 90 days of free coursework for students to engage with any of its 13 different learning paths.

We’re honored to be a part of these incredible efforts to support organizations and individuals in a uniquely challenging time.

The Road Ahead

Businesses are increasingly viewing Customer and Partner Education as the mission-critical strategy to drive product adoption, customer retention, and revenue generation. With this new round of financing, you can expect even more from Skilljar in the months to come as we accelerate our market, customer, and product roadmaps.

The opportunity ahead of us is tremendous and we are excited to have new investors who share our passion, commitment, and vision for Customer Education. To the Skilljar team, our customers, and all of our partners – a heartfelt thank you for your support!
