With in-person training an impossibility at the moment, here are 11 ideas to consider for your upcoming on-demand content:
On-Demand Training Tips
- Tell a story: script your content in advance and try to evoke emotion
- Uses quizzes to encourage the learner to interact and to test for understanding
- Consider using on-screen text and background music as an alternative to voiceovers
- Start and end each video consistently, with branding and music
- Use animation and animated videos
- Share speakers’ faces alongside visuals, especially if using voiceovers
- Invest in a decent USB microphone to improve audio quality
- Avoid “sage on the stage” speak – maintain a conversational tone
- Stay focused and don’t try to cram too much into one less
- Reduce background noise by finding a quiet space to record and using pillows or blankets to decrease echoes
- Invest in a good content authoring tools like Articulate Rise and Storyline
